Venue Information
Schoolcraft
See Schoolcraft map (pool is in Physical Education building). The pool is indoor, 25 yards, with 6 lanes. Four unique, printed workouts are provided, typically focusing on freestyle. Range is 2,000-3,600 yards early in the season (Sept.) to 2,800-4,800 yards later in the season. Workouts are organized so that lanes have similar sets & intervals to help make sessions smooth.
Members are encouraged to bring a kickboard, pull buoy, & flippers. The club provides a few, but can't supply enough for everyone. Bring a water bottle to set on the side of the pool during the workout. Some members bring in their favorite workout tape or CD - music pumping in the morning keeps everyone moving!
This group & the Livonia YMCA group meet at Charley's Grille located at the SW corner of Haggerty & 6 Mile Rd for breakfast & social hour after the swim.
Cost: $5.00, or register for $48 per 3-month session (save $1 per practice).

Trout Lake
Trout Lake is approx. 0.4 miles long by 0.25 miles wide, making it an excellent place to get in an "open water" swim practice with a wetsuit! It is in the Island Lake Recreation Area - south of I-96, across the freeway from Kensington Metropark near Milford, Michigan. Take I-96 to exit 151 (Kensington Rd.), go south on Kensington Rd. 1/2 mile to Park Entrance. Trout Lake is a 2 minute drive plus a 10 minute stroll once you are inside the park.

Members are invited to bring a wetsuit & goggles for the workouts.
Swimmable part is basically rectangular & is mainly 4-12 feet deep. There is no lifeguard!

Dunworth Pool - Dearborn
Dunworth Pool, see Dearborn Pools map, in the 50 m pool. Members swim M-F at 6-9am.
Cost: Participants are required to purchase a Masters Swim Pool Tag for $70 (non-resident, $75). This tag will allow participants to take part in the Master Swim Program and to enter any of the city’s eight outdoor pools during open swim times. Participants are required each day to display their tag and sign in.
