3/19/2010 -  Newsletter Articles Due!

From our Newsletter Editor Noah Birmelin - Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the deadline to get in a story, picture, and/or an achievement is March 19th the first newsletter of the year. Please email me at news@swimfasttrifast.com to get your item in the newsletter, as my yahoo account likes to spam emails and I may not see it. Please include a headshot of yourself to be included with your item so our FAST members can put a face to the name. If you don't I will dig through the photos I have from swim meets and triathlons and you don't want that appearing in the newsletter.

3/20/2010 -  Running Fit Triathlon Expo

Running Fit has a big fat Triathlon season kick off on Saturday March 20th! Mark the date! 5700 Jackson Rd. in Ann Arbor. We will have a morning run, bike and a sign up for 15 minute (RSVP) workouts in the Endless Pool! Grab a slot, tri a wetsuit. Reps will be on hand from Zoot, 2xU, Sugoui and whoever we talk into this,  along with flashy bikes from 2 Wheel Tango, transition demo (Fun to watch completion), see them jump from the pool and ride off into winter, ride back in and run back out! (Some fast and famous folks!) Triathlon clubs on hand to trick you into joining! AA Tri, FAST, TIA, Mission Tri, and TNT, Tri video to get you pumped, lots of give a ways, food, discounts and drinks, and, and, save the date! Exact info to come! Early till mid afternoon on March 20th! Did we mention a powerbike time trail with cash prizes? Did we mention Jeff Mallet will do a book signing for Trizphenia?

Henry Ford Hospital is collecting family friendly movie and TV show DVDs for use on their chemo ward. They recently received a donation of 42 DVD players and now need some movies for patients to watch while undergoing treatment.

If anyone would like to make a donation you can bring them to Karen Rosinski at Charleys after swimming and I will drop them off for you. If you itemize your taxes this can be considered a charitable donation.   Additional questions?  Email sec@swimfasttrifast.com

FAST had 4 women swimmers deemed Long Distance All Americans for 2009.

Tracy Durham - 6000y postal, 6000y postal relay women, 6000y postal relay mixed

Jenny Birmelin - 6+ mile open water, 10k postal relay women, 5k postal relay mixed

Melissa Kelber - 6+ mile open water

Maddie Deido - 6+ mile open water, 10k postal realy women, 6000y postal relay women.

Additionally, Jenny (JD) Birmelin was designated an ALL-STAR swimmer in the 30-34 age group.  Only one all star is selected in each age/gender group country wide.  Good job JD!
