Ken Gutowski organizes winter Compu Trainer sessions for club members on club owned Compu Trainers.
The 2nd session this year will be this Sunday at 9:15 am; arrive at 9 am for time to set up your bike.
Donations to ride are appreciated and should be $5 a ride or 3 for $10. (Third one free)
Send requests to kgutowsk@ford.com. All requests will recieve some type of reply. Remember it is first come, first serve and if you can't make it please let us know in case there are some people wait listed.
As always it is based upon space/availability at my house. If some of the units are rented out then there will be less spots. Presently there is one rented out. (Members can rent them out for $10/week and a $100 deposit. Minimum 2 week rental and subject to be requested back based on club activity or others that have not rented one wishing one to try-we have never had to call one back yet)
What is a CompuTrainer? It is a sophisticated bike trainer that interacts with the computer providing more life like riding than any other trainer available. It provides additional feedback regarding your speed, cadence, power while showing your ride on the computer screen. www.computrainer.com for more information.
What to expect:
1. Please show up about 10 minutes before the start time so as to get the bike set up. (show up at 9 am for this week)
2. Bring an extra towel for use while riding the bike to soak up the sweat.
3. Bring a water bottle, clean bike, bike shoes, and any other special foods you want while biking.
4. Maybe a cool DVD to watch; one that can be watched while biking and talking. (maybe this week we will watch the Lions lose again)
5. This time of the year I normally have people ride my personal 17 mile course with added miles for warming up and cooling down.
6. The sessions normally take about 2 hours to set up bikes, warm up, ride, cool down, and then pack back up.
